bullet  General Notes:

Vera was the rock that anchored her family. She was a frugal money manager resulting in the family having greater affluence that they would have had with a less competent family manager. She like her husband grew up during terrible economic time in the United States. But unlike her husband she had a solid family life as a child with her father Linn Shaw being a respected citizen of the community of Parkervill, Kansas. Vera worked at the Herrington Air Base, near Delavone Kansas, during World War II. Her job was cleaning and gapping spark plugs for B29 Bombers. She loved animals and kept and rode horses into her seventies. She suffered terribly from dementia during the last few years of her life. 1
