Alonzo Clarke Leonard

  General Notes:

Alonzo was in Company K of the 64th Regiment, Illinois Infantry (Yates' Sharpshooters)
Further research revealed that 15 year old Alonzo joined March 9th, of 1864 and died near Rome, Ga, October 8th 1864 at age 15 during Major General Sherman's March to the Sea campaign.
Interestingly Alonzo's eldest brother Henry's unit and his future brothe-in-law George S. Shaw's units were in the same campaign. It is unknown if there was any contact between Alonzo and his brother prior to his death.
