Henry Hiram Leonard

  General Notes:

Henry Leonard was in the same unit that his father, Addison Clarke Leonard, was in, Company A, 112th Infantry Regiment Illinois. He entered as a private and was discharged as a corporal. Film Number M539 roll 52.

Henry's unit participated in Major General Sherman's March to the Sea campaign.

Interestingly Henry's younger brother Alonzo's unit and his future brothe-in-law George S. Shaw's units were in the same campaign. It is unknown if there was any contact between Alonzo and his brother prior to Alonzo's death during the campaign at age 15. ³⁸
